Infection Control

Infection Control

We’ve been putting great effort into infection control since before COVID-19 spread happened. April 2020, we closed our office for an entire month to consider our new infection control standard aiming for the new virus COVID-19 to protect our staff, our patients, and all their families.

We’ve been putting great effort into infection control since before COVID-19 spread happened. April 2020, we closed our office for an entire month to consider our new infection control standard aiming for the new virus COVID-19 to protect our staff, our patients, and all their families.

Our original standard infecion control

Our entire team follows standard precautions procedures. Standard precautions apply to all patients regardless of their diagnosis or presumed infection status.

POINT.01

We change our gloves at every use. (We change them VERY OFTEN. Even in one patient's treatment time, we change them every time they get contaminated.)

POINT.02

Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces, replacing disposable films where we touch while the treatment.

POINT.03

Sterilization of all instruments after every use, or use disposable tools.

POINT.04

We sterilize or put disposable covers on all the tools in the X-ray room, too.

Our New Infection Control aming for COVID-19 virus

01. Personal Protective Equipment

We Upgraded our Personal Protective Equipment

Body Protective Suit

We wear body protective suits to protect ourselves from the virus.

Facemask

This facemask is made only for Daikanyama Dental Clinic. It has a high particle collection efficiency filter (it's higher than N95 masks.)

Disposable Coat

This is to protect our patients. We put disposable coats on our body protective suits and change it for every patie.

02. Social Distancing

We disposed the sofa at the reception area and put individual chairs to be able to take social distancing.

03. Hand Sanitizing, Shoes Cover, & Thermometry

We ask patients to sanitize hands, wear shoes cover, and to check body temperature. We disinfect the pens, the paper folders and the chairs after every use.

04. New Routine Before The Treatment

We ask patients to keep the mask on until right before we start the treatment. When we start, you can put your mask on the tray, which has a disposable cover. One minute rinse with iodine, then disinfection with Hydrogen peroxide is performed by a doctor or a hygienist before starting treatments to lower the risk of droplet infection while the treatment.

05. Chemical Disinfection After The Treatment

Our original infection control system requires us to disinfect only where we touch during the treatment. The new system requires disinfecting with sodium hypochlorite dilute where we possibly touch, such as curtains, chairs for patients belongings, and floors after every patient's treatment

06. Chemical Disinfection Of The Clinic

We wipe all the floor at least one a day with sodium hypochlorite dilute.

Ongoing Infection Control

As we upgraded our infection control systems due to COVID-19 infection spread, it has taken a lot more time to change our equipment, disinfect the room and tools after every patient. We’ve been doing and will do everything we can do to protect ourselves and our patients, but the more we do, the more loads we get physically and the less patients we can see each day. So we are adjusting our infection control systems in consideration of the latest status.

There is a possibility that we will get attacked by some new virus in the future. We have confidence in protecting our staff, our patients, and all their families.

Please feel free to ask us if you have any concerns about infection control. The more you know about our daily procedures and policies, the more comfortable you will feel.
